"Mi Casa, su casa" to the max
What's the oddest thing a guest has done in your home?
This question hit the mark. Many of you apparently have had guest
oddities occurring in your homes. Here's what we've heard so far:
Clothes-related:
- Changed into some of MY clothes during a party we were having at our
house.
- Rummaged through our hamper; I only noticed after the guest was gone.
- Folded my laundry.
Kitchen/bathroom oddities:
- Helped herself to the frig while we were chatting. And she's just
an acquaintance!
- Cut her hair in my bathroom. I think she needed encouragement from
a friend, so asked if she could do it at my house.
- Looked in my medicine cabinet and then asked me why I had certain
prescriptions!
- Baked a birthday cake for her husband in my oven because she said she
didn't want to get hers dirty.
In and around the house:
- Saw some dust on the ledge over one of my doors, so got a wet paper
towel and started cleaning!
- Re-arranged the place cards for a dinner party. She didn't like
the person sitting next to her and decided to change it.
- Re-hung my Christmas tree ornaments. Apparently my arrangement
offended her sensibilities, so she had to make it right!
- Broke an antique figurine during a party. Didn't tell me but
wrapped the pieces up in newspaper and put them on my bed. I still
don't know who did it.
- Asked if he could plant pot in my yard; it's bigger and more private
than his.
- [Lots of entries related to this.] Came over and brought their
own: food, music, alcohol, pets. . . .
- During a New Year's Eve party, a couple asked if they could use our
bedroom at midnight. They said that's ALWAYS how they celebrate the
New Year.
- Came into my house and lit a fire. She said she was cold and
didn't want me to go to any trouble.
- Had a segment of 20/20 filmed in my house. The guest, an author,
said his place was too small and he didn't want to foot the bill for a hall
to host the show, which was covering his work and latest book.
- Took a nap during a party at our house.
- A (former) friend asked if he could use our phone to call his mistress.
I didn't even know he was having an affair!
- Used the phone in my bedroom during a party. After the party I
found him sound asleep while still on the phone.
