Real chicks don't eat meals!

Is hunger fun?

I’ve faced this situation my whole adult life, and I wonder how others deal with it. When I’m out with my women friends, many of them avoid meals. I love to eat a nice lunch or dinner, but they prefer just to snack! I get so hungry, but it’s embarrassing being the only one that wants to really eat! This isn’t a weight thing, I don’t think, because none of us is even a little heavy. At first I thought it was a money thing, but now I’m just not sure! Perfect example: I was on a girls’ overnight with some friends and it was dinner time. I hadn’t eaten breakfast or lunch, which was my bad, but by dinner time I was famished. I mentioned a couple restaurants to my friends, one of whom just wrinkled her face and said, “We don’t want to eat dinner, do we?” She preferred just to drink at a bar. The others went along with her, so I assume they didn’t want to eat either. What’s with that and has anyone had success dealing with it?

My friends are the same way, except they’re very open about saying it’s a money thing.  Especially these days.  Why pay $15 for an appetizer that doesn’t fill you up and you could make at home for a fraction of the cost?  The important thing about going out is socializing, not eating.

Among my friends, I’m the eater. I ALWAYS eat before I get together with them.

I’m divorced and looking.  I go out with my friends and hope I’ll meet men who will buy my drinks.  I’d feel guilty if I spent money on myself for things like drinks and restaurant food.  My friends are the same way, and nobody is on a diet.

I’ve convinced myself if I snack when I’m hungry instead of eating meals, that I can drink wine and not gain weight.  It may not be logical, but my friends and I have talked about it and I’m not the only one who thinks that way.
